# Product Engineering Workflows: From Triage to Release

> Primary workflows in the Product Engineering domain: triggers, steps, handoffs, approvals, and receipts.

The Product Engineering domain defines several primary workflows that practitioners run daily. Each workflow is triggered by an event, routed through Spine, and completes with a receipt.

### Ticket Triage

* **Trigger**: New issue created in Linear or Jira.
* **Steps**: Discovery agent links related work; Twin proposes priority and assignee; human reviews and approves.
* **Handoff**: Assigned owner receives the ticket in their Today view.
* **Receipt**: `linear.issue.update` receipt is logged.

### Sprint Planning

* **Trigger**: Sprint start date approaches.
* **Steps**: Roadmap agent evaluates epic health and capacity; Twin proposes sprint content; team reviews in the workbench.
* **Handoff**: Approved sprint moves to the Sprint Board.
* **Receipt**: `sprint.plan.auto` receipt is logged.

### Release

* **Trigger**: Release candidate is ready or scheduled.
* **Steps**: Release agent checks readiness; human approves; pipeline promotes build; Datadog monitors are verified.
* **Handoff**: Operations receives the release in the Release Pipeline.
* **Receipt**: `release.pipeline.promote` receipt is logged.

### Incident Response

* **Trigger**: PagerDuty incident or Sentry alert fires.
* **Steps**: Triage agent assesses severity and links related release; Twin drafts summary; on-call acts via capability.
* **Handoff**: Post-mortem owner is assigned after resolution.
* **Receipt**: `incident.workflow.run` receipt is logged.

### Code Review

* **Trigger**: PR opened or review requested.
* **Steps**: Code Review agent links issues and checks staleness; reviewer opens context in the workbench; approval triggers merge eligibility.
* **Handoff**: Back to author or forward to merge.
* **Receipt**: `github.pr.merge` receipt is logged.
