The Legal domain in SpineWorkspace is the unified practice management layer for legal counsel and compliance. It is projected from the same Spine Fabric that powers every domain, so contracts, matters, and policies stay consistent with source systems and accessible to agents without siloed repositories. The Legal operating model centers on three roles: general counsel who sets strategy and approves high-stakes decisions, legal ops who run intake, workflow, and reporting, and contracts managers who shepherd agreements from draft to signature. All three work from the same Spine Workbench but see views scoped to their responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage contract lifecycle from intake through execution and renewal.
  • Track and resolve legal matters with clear ownership and deadlines.
  • Maintain an accurate policy register and oversee attestations.
  • Map regulations to controls and run compliance audits.
  • Assess vendor risk and maintain third-party diligence records.

KPIs

  • Contract turnaround time from intake to signature.
  • Matter resolution time by priority category.
  • Policy attestation coverage percentage.
  • Compliance audit finding closure rate.
  • Vendor risk assessment completion rate.

Non-Goals

  • Litigation strategy or external counsel engagement management (tracked in Matter records but not executed inside Spine).
  • Financial budgeting or accruals (handled by the Finance domain projection).
  • Product engineering decisions (Spine provides regulatory input, not build authority).
